| About this style / Acerca de este estilo |
This style is not very common in my art. Most of my
abstract work was created between the years of 2000 and 2003,
with very few created as far back as 1979, and few more in the
years following 2003.
I am not sure what led me to create abstract work, though I can
assure you there's a great deal of intensity in a work that
relies in colors and textures to convey an emotion. The
two most intense pieces are these below:

Bleeding Heart

Airstrikes
2003 |
Bleeding Heart is perhaps the most heart
wrenching abstract work that I've ever created. It is
a painting created, literally, with tears. If you look
closely at the image you'll see the marks left by tears that
fell as I created it (some were added as an afterthought).
Airstrikes was created the day the United
States of America invaded Iraq. As the US destroyed the
infrastructures of that sovereign nation, I kept wondering why
were we there. Look closely and behind the blood splatter and
the fire sparks you'll see a city in ruins.
